1. When and where will the 10th SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards be held?
26 November 2017 at the Durban ICC Arena
2. How does one gain access to the Awards?
You need to purchase or have purchased a ticket from our offices or Computicket outlets, Shoprite/checkers
3. How much are the general access tickets?
Tickets are still available from Computicket from R480.00
4. How much is the VIP and VVIP ticket and what does it entail?
VIP Tickets are R1280 and VVIP tickets are R1980.00 each.
VIP Package: Limousine Ride from Hilton Hotel, Picture Opportunity with Celebrities, Red Carpet Parade and Cocktail After Party after the ceremony.
VVIP Package: Limousine Ride from Hilton Hotel, Picture Opportunity with Celebrities, Snacks during the show, Goodie Bag, Red Carpet Parade and Cocktail After Party after the ceremony.

5. Is the Media allowed to cover the event? How?
Yes – by this time you should have applied for accreditation as advised through media messages. Accreditation Applications closed on the 17th November 2017. Accredited media will contacted. You are ONLY allowed access to the event upon receiving an SMS or communique approving your application.
6. Are there any free events leading to the Crown Awards?
The Crown Awards are a ticket event (you need to buy a ticket) BUT we do have the following free events:
23 November: Ayihlome Crown Awards Prayer at Durban ICC (Hall 3) starting at 18h00
25-26 November: Christian Expo Africa at Durban ICC starting at 9am daily

7. I cannot afford a ticket, how will I be able to watch the Awards?
The Awards will be broadcast LIVE on SABC 2 at 20h00. Do not miss out! 
8. I have purchased a General Access ticket for the Awards, at what time must I be at the event venue?
Doors to the main event venue will close at 16h45. The show will start at 17h00. Please be Punctual!
9. For VIP and VVIP ticket holders, what time must I be at the venue?
VIP and VVIP Ticket Holders must be at the Hilton Hotel drop-off area on Walnut Road at 14h50 so that they can be chauffer driven to the Durban ICC entrance area for the Red Carpet Parade which starts at 15h00 to 16h30.
10. I do not have a ticket to the crowns but would love to see my favourite celebs, is this possible?
You can position yourself at the designated public area on Monty Naicker Street to see your favourite celebrities. Make sure you are already standing at 15h00  
11. At what time will the Red-Carpet Parade commence?
The Red Carpet will start at 15h00 to 16h30! Walala Wasala!!  
12. What’s New this Year at the Crown Awards?
If you have ticket to the Crown Awards, you will also have the opportunity to watch Gospel Musical #MARIA…..telling the Story of the Son! This powerful theatrical play stares Jessica Nkosi, Brian Themba, Sihle Zulu and Yolanda Myeza.

15. Who are the nominees for this year’s Awards?
The Nominees has been published since the 21st October 2017 on media platforms, social media and our website www.theafricangospel.com
16. How do I vote for my favourite Artist or Gospel Song?
Voted for Categories can be voted for by using our SMS line. See artwork attached. Voting closes 20th November 2017 at 00:00
17. Which Categories are voted for until the night of the Awards Ceremony?
The Best Gospel Song Category and Best Gospel Artist Category can be voted for until the 26th November 2017 at 21h00.
For Best Gospel Song: SMS Song + Name of the Song to 34069 (sms costs R1.50)
For Best Gospel Artist: SMS Artist + Name of Artist to 34069 (sms costs R1.50)

Crown Awards branded Merchandise such as T-shirts, Caps and Hoodies will be on sale at the Christian Expo (15-26 Nov @ Durban ICC , 9AM, FREE ENTRY), and at the entrance to the venue of the Awards on the 26th November. Prices to follow….

Durban, October, 2017 - The World Gospel Powerhouse unveiled the nominees for the 10th SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards 2017 in a grand all-white ceremony held in Durban on Friday, 20 October 2017.
Ours as the World Gospel Powerhouse is to identify, nurture and provide world-class opportunities through platforms such as the Crown Awards. This year the Crowns boast more than 40 categories for artists, musicians and industry role-players to pursue. In addition, for our 10th anniversary, we have introduced the following categories: Best iTende, Best Clap & Tap, Gospel Artist/Group of the Decade and Gospel Song of the Decade.

“The panel of judges for the Crown Awards included seasoned industry heads and role-players who have vast experience & knowledge on music and entertainment. Their role will be to judge all entries and score them according to our points system and criteria before consolidating a final nominees list that will be announced to the public this month”, said Zanele Mbokazi – Founder and Executive Producer of the Crown Awards.

The Crown Gospel music awards were launched in 2007 and the first edition was held in the August 2008.  This is another one of The World Gospel Powerhouse initiatives under the patron of Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule. These awards are a platform of saluting, celebrating and awarding excellence in the Gospel music industry in RSA and beyond the borders CGMA have grown in the past 9 years and it has continued to make a great contribution in the growth of Gospel music industry. 5000 guests from all walks of life attend The Crowns every year including Government officials, local and international artists, celebrities and the general public. The event is broadcast live on SABC. CGMA has attracted the interest of Gospel artists outside South Africa through a category ‘Best of Africa’ and also through the night’s performances.  Artists who have become ‘the friends’ of the CGMA include Uche, Sammy Okposo, Moipei Quartet, Shongwe & Khupuka, Masingarella, James Okon and many more.

 

 

CROWN GOSPEL BLESTIVAL – 10 YEAR-CELEBRATION OF SABC CROWNS GOSPEL AWARDS
BACKGROUND
The SABC Crown Gospel Music Awards were started in 2008. The Crown Gospel Music Awards are an initiative of The World Gospel Powerhouse. Over the years, the brand has grown and evolved into a well-respected platform for Gospel artists from all over SA and Africa. The CROWNS have unearthed a number of new artists who have now become household names. Through 33 categories, the CROWNS have managed to challenge Gospel artists to be creative, evolve and ensure that the genre becomes bigger and more exciting. In 2017, the CROWNS are celebrating 10 years, and the following activities are planned
